A gold lamé dress bodice from a gown worn by Eleanor Powell while dancing with George Murphy to "Between You and Me" in Broadway Melody of 1940 (MGM, 1940). The bodice is embellished with gold bullion, sequins, brass leaves, gold metal and wood beadwork. Costume design by Adrian. Post-production alterations are present. The gown also appeared in the closet of Lana Turner in Ziegfeld Girl (MGM, 1941). Accompanied by two black and white publicity images and a copy of Ziegfeld Girl . Previously exhibited at The Sharon Landa Gallery in Hollywood, California, 1971.
