A pale green silk brocade waistcoat worn by Tyrone Power as Count Axel de Fersen in Marie Antoinette (MGM, 1938). The waistcoat has apricot striping and foliate sprigs, with gold tone filigree buttons, and an MGM label that reads "Tyron Power." Men's costume design by Giles Steele. Accompanied by a copy of the film. Additionally, featured in the American Movie Classics documentary The Hollywood Fashion Machine : Faded Sequins , Tattered Dreams , Saving Hollywood's Classic Costumes (AMC, 2000). Previously exhibited: The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, "Hollywood 2000: The Eighth Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibit," February through April 2000, with a corresponding ensemble from the collection at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Sharon Landa Gallery in Hollywood, California, 1971.
