A persimmon silk velvet justacorps, a style that preceded the frock coat, worn by Robert Morley in his Academy Award nominated role as King Louis XVI in Marie Antoinette (MGM, 1938). The coat is embellished with gold bullion embroidery and has gold tone buttons with topaz colored rhinestones. An MGM label reads "Morely #1 1030-9775 13." Men's costume design by Gile Steele. Accompanied by a handwritten note found in the coat pocket inscribed "Then there is indeed nothing more to say!" believed to be written by Morley as a line reminder. Also accompanied by a floral brocade gold lamé waistcoat with rhinestone embellished globe buttons and MGM cleaning tag and a lace dickey inscribed MGM that are not original to the costume as well as a copy of the film. Additionally, featured in the American Movie Classics documentary The Hollywood Fashion Machine : Faded Sequins , Tattered Dreams , Saving Hollywood's Classic Costumes (AMC, 2000).
