A 19th century style moss green wool coat with beaver fur trim worn by Olivia de Havilland as Catherine Sloper in The Heiress (Paramount, 1949). The tailored coat has cape sleeves, decorative frog closures, golden crepe lining, and hand finishing work. A Paramount label reads "O. De Havilland." The film was nominated for a total of eight Academy Awards, winning four that included Best Actress for de Havilland and Best Costume Design (Black and White) for Edith Head and Gile Steele. Accompanied by two black and white studio publicity images. Previously exhibited: The Valley Hunt Club for the book launch of Edith Head : The Fifty Year Career of Hollywood's Greatest Costume Designer , 2010.
