A yellow McAuliffe Uniform Corp. Oakland Athletics jersey game worn by A's third baseman Sal Bando during the 1973 World Series. Bando gave the jersey directly to Whalen Monica after the A's Game 7 and World Series-clinching victory. The jersey features the A's logo on the left chest in green-on-white twill, with yellow and green striping detail on the sleeves and green and white striping detail around the neck of the jersey. Stitched into the back of the jersey is "BANDO" in block green twill lettering, with Bando's number "6" in green-on-white twill below. Stitched into the bottom front interior of the jersey is a McAuliffe Uniform Corp. manufacturer's tag, a "1973" year tag, and a size "44" tag. The jersey is accompanied by a letter, handwritten by Bando, that reads "To the best of my knowledge the/ Gold Jersey was worn during the 1973 World Series!/ Sal Bando." The letter is dated "3/3/13" and is signed by Bando, with original mailing envelope. Also included is a Rawlings Official National League Baseball (Feeney), used in batting and/or fielding practice and signed on-site at Shea Stadium in Flushing, New York, during the 1973 World Series. Additionally included are Whalen Monica's 1973 World Series Field and Clubhouse passes for Shea Stadium and an undated color image of Bando, in a different A's jersey, with his arm around Monica.
