A group of three typed letters signed by Cecil B. DeMille. The first is written on DeMille's Paramount Pictures stationery in thanks for a birthday greeting, dated August 16, 1954. DeMille states that he is about to leave for Egypt to film The Ten Commandments (Paramount, 1956) and mentions his hopes for what the film will mean to his audience. The second letter, dated January 8, 1955, and also on DeMille's Paramount Pictures stationery, is DeMille's response to a Christmas greeting. In the letter, DeMille discusses the past year spent working on The Ten Commandments . The third letter, on DeMille's personal stationery, is dated March 9, 1955, and is in reply to a message of sympathy following the death of DeMille's brother William the day before. Each letter is addressed to Miss Laura Cirignani, one page, typed and signed by DeMille in blue ink, with original transmittal envelopes. Our thanks to James D'Arc with the Cecil B. DeMille archives at Brigham Young University. Letter, 11 by 8 1/2 inches Categories:
