A seat back from the original Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, New York. The blue plastic seat back is numbered "5." the most notable player to have worn uniform number 5 for the Yankees is the legendary Joe DiMaggio. Nicknamed "Joltin' Joe" and "The Yankee Clipper," DiMaggio was one of the most beloved players ever to wear Yankee pinstripes. DiMaggio was a 13-time All-Star - being named every year of his career - a nine-time world series champion, and a three-time American League MVP. One of DiMAggio's greatest achievements was his 56 game hitting steak, a record that still stands after being set by DiMaggio during the 1941 season. DiMaggio was eleveted to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955 and had his number 5 retired by the Yankees on April 18, 1952. Affixed to the seat back is a plaque that reads "Yankee Stadium/ April 18, 1923 - September 21, 2008." The seat back was used in, and removed from, the original Yankee Stadium in 2008. The seat back is manufactured by American Seating of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Affixed to the seat back is a Major League Baseball numbered hologram.
