A white cotton, right-hand glove with Velcro closure at wrist, covered in hand-sewn Swarovski loch rosen crystals in clear and two shades of iridescence. The glove is signed by O’Neal in black marker on the interior of the glove and contains a “Dennis Tompkins Michael Bush” label. Tompkins and Bush, Michael Jackson’s exclusive costumers for decades, created this glove for O’Neal using the same techniques and materials they used to create gloves worn by Jackson himself. The glove was created for O’Neal's December 2010 appearance as “Shaq-a-Claus” at a charity event at the Roxbury Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston as part of the “Experience the Glove” campaign surrounding the release of Ubisoft’s “Michael Jackson: The Experience” Wii game. O’Neal wore the glove at the event while playing the newly released Wii game with children, showing off his moves while dancing along with the game and later handing out presents. The glove was then listed on an online charity auction website with all proceeds from the sale of the glove benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. O’Neal credits the Boys & Girls Clubs of his hometown of Newark, New Jersey, with keeping him out of trouble and giving him a safe place to play. He has been a strong supporter of the organization throughout his professional career. Length, 9 ½ inches ESTIMATE $600-800 Categories:
