A letter by former Major League Baseball outfielder and manager Hugh Duffy representing the Boston American League Baseball Company regarding an American League film. The typed letter features the Boston Red Sox emblem on "Boston American League Baseball Company" stationery. The letter is addressed to "Mr. J. J. Haley" with statements including "Note what you say about the American League/ film. The young lady who has charge of booking the film/ from this office has been out sick and is expected back by the first of next week. I shall be glad to turn your/ request over to her and you will, no doubt, hear from Miss/ Cadogan regarding the showing of the picture." Duffy is best known for his 1894 Triple Crown season where he led the league with 18 home runs, 145 RBIs and a .440 batting average. Duffy was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1945. The letter is dated December 30, 1943, and signed by Duffy in black fountain pen. Accompanied by an envelope addressed to Mr. John J.
