A collection of items relating to Beat culture. The collection includes three black and white prints of photographs by Larry Keenan printed in 1989 and 1996, signed by the artist and with photographer's stamp on verso. The first shows Michael McClure, Bob Dylan and Allen Ginsberg. The second shows Neal Cassidy shaving. The third shows a group photo captioned as "The Last Gathering of Beat Poets and Artists North Beach 1965." Also included is a group of 10 black and white photographs taken by John "Hoppy" Hopkins of Allen Ginsberg in London. Contained in a presentation folder. Copyright and artist information sticker on verso. Accompanied by information about Ginsberg’s time in London and the poetry event held at Royal Albert Concert Hall. Three of these photographs are framed and were previously exhibited at the 2007 Tate Liverpool Summer of Love exhibition. In addition are a signed copy of Harold Chapman's out of print The Beat Hotel (1984); a copy of Evergreen Review No. 49 from October 1967, cover designed by Peter Max; and a poster advertising "Psychedelic Sex Kicks" (PAD, 1967) and "Wild Hippie Orgy" (PAD, 1967), poster framed and previously exhibited at the 2007 Tate Liverpool Summer of Love exhibition; and six photostat poster collages from Shakespeare and Company Paris.
