A film overlay from one panel of Rick Griffin's Beetle cartoon used to illustrate The Beatles song "Why Don't We Do It in the Road? " for the book The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics edited by Alan Aldridge (New York: Delacorte Press, 1969), which accompanies this lot. The full illustration is a 13-panel black and white cartoon. The overlay is the black and white negative and the tail of the speech bubble. The piece may have been intended for a later printing project based on the work that appeared in the book.
