The middle image on the page shows a surfer being pelted with a rock while hiding behind his surfboard. The bottom image is of a man, possibly Murph the Surf, standing on the bow of the Queen Mary. Griffin's notes are written alongside the drawings in blue and red ink. Griffin began his art career as a surf artist while still in high school. After graduation, he went to work at Surfer magazine and created his surf character Murphy, or Murph the Surf. 7 1/2 by 9 inches PROVENANCE Acquired from the Estate of Rick Griffin Categories: Rick Griffin
