A group of four sketches for Rick Griffin illustrations in the book The Gospel of John by Chuck Smith, including a framed ink on tracing paper concept drawing for the chapter 21 heading. A similar image can be seen on page 88 of the accompanying book. Also included are a pair of ink on paper drawings framed together that illustrate the raising of Lazarus, which can be seen on pages 46 and 56 of the accompanying book, and a framed ink on paper drawing illustrating the Bible verse John 15:3-4. The finished illustration can be seen on page 64 of the accompanying book. Griffin collaborated with Smith to illustrate the religious tract and book.
