Continental, early 19th century. A fine and matched set of six Venetian style Rococo giltwood side dining chairs, each with arched shaped crestrail surmounted by a rocaille cresting over a cartouche shaped upholstered, padded back above a padded seat and slightly serpentine shaped rail centered with leafy pierced rocaille raised on cabriole legs carved at the knee with cabochon medallion and terminating in scrolled toes. The underside of seat with penalty tag 'REMADE AND RENOVATED BY GUIDO De ANGELIS, INC, East 71St. New York 21, N.Y. Approximate height 43.12", width 21.5" (leg to leg), seat depth 14.5", seat height 17.5". Provenance: Purchased from Trosby Galleries, Palm Beach.
