$3,200
A yellow acetate satin EVERLAST boxing robe worn by Evander Holyfield for his Heavyweight fight against Riddick Bowe on November 6, 1993 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. The robe features black lapels, cuffs and pocket stripe. In addition there is an EVERLAST logo stitched into the upper left side of the robe. Stitched into the back of the robe in black embroidered block lettering is "Evander/ "Real Deal"/ Holyfield." After losing his Undisputed Heavyweight Championship to Bowe a year earlier, Holyfield would go on to win the rematch on a Majority Decision, thus reclaiming the WBA and IBF Heavyweight titles. The fight will also be remembered for one of the most bizarre moments in boxing history. During the 7th round, a man named James Miller, with a large fan strapped to his back, parachuted into the outdoor arena and crashed into the ring apron. After landing and getting tangled in the ring ropes, he was pulled into the crowd and beaten by spectators and members of Bowe's entrouage. There was a 20 minute delay until calm was restored thus leaving Holyfield to continue on his path to victory. The fight will forever be remembered as "The Fan Man Fight." *Holyfield wore this robe under a Coca-Cola promotional robe that he wore into the ring. Holyfield can be seen wearing this robe at the 9:00 mark of the below attached video.
