An ivory silk jewel encrusted inaugural ball gown worn by Madonna in her Golden Globe winning role as Eva Peron in Evita (Cinergi Pictures, 1996). The ensemble was also worn in the October 1996 issue of Vogue in a layout titled "Madonna's Moment" with images shot by renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel. The halter gown has a fitted bodice heavily embellished with imitation pearls, ruby red rhinestones, white rhinestones and generous beadwork and a full skirt with an asymmetrical hemline. A Palace Costume label is present. Design by Penny Rose. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards and won one. Accompanied by a copy of the film, an issue of the October 1996 Vogue magazine, and a certificate of authenticity signed by Melody Barnett of Palace Costume Company. Categories: Madonna
