A vintage violet jersey dress, caplet and mink scarf worn by Madonna in her Golden Globe-winning role as Eva Peron in Evita (Cinergi Pictures, 1996). The ensemble was also worn in the November 1996 issue of Vanity Fair in a layout titled "The Madonna Diaries" with images shot by renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino. The dress has draping to the neckline and skirt with a bouquet of violets to the hip. The caplet is trimmed with natural marten fur. Both the caplet and dress have "Madonna" and Palace Costume labels. Costume design by Penny Rose. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards and won one.
