An original sheet of handwritten lyrics for the controversial Prince song “Erotic City ('Make Love Not War, Erotic City Come Alive')” (Warner Bros. , 1984). Comprised of ink and graphite on ruled paper, with eraser marks, corrections and additions. The song was controversial due its explicit sexual language and the liberal use of the “F” word. It was claimed, though, that the actual lyric was “funk,” thus allowing the song to be broadcast over the radio without censorship. This rare manuscript once and for all identifies Prince's intended lyric. From the private collection of Prince’s audio engineer. 11 by 8 1/2 inches Categories: Prince
