$2,500
A pair of ink and watercolor costume design sketches by Pavel Tchelitchew, from the personal collection of Gypsy Rose Lee. Housed in a reversible frame with a beveled ruby glass border. It is believed that this costume was designed for Gypsy and worn by her during a burlesque performance in Mike Todd's 1939 World's Fair production of the "Streets of Paris" revue. A photograph shows Gypsy in her New York home proudly pointing to these framed illustrations. PROVENANCE From the Estate of Gypsy Rose Lee Framed, 15 1/8 by 12 inches Categories: Gypsy Rose Lee
