A pair of specially molded latex gloves created for Nipsey Russell in his portrayal of Tin Man in The Wiz (Universal, 1978). The gloves have varying fingertips, molded screws, nuts, washers, and threaded pipe ends detailing. Each day on the set the gloves would get their own "makeup session" that included re-rusting the screws and adding new black adhesives to the fingertips to give the appearance of hollow fingers. Designed by Tony Walton. The Wiz was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design in 1978.
