A military jacket worn by James Stewart as Glenn Miller in the biopic The Glenn Miller Story (Universal, 1954). The 1950s style U.S. Army military jacket has an internal typed Western Costume Company label that reads "Jimmy Stewart." The jacket is complete with professionally restored military patches and insignia identical to those seen in the film. Stewart wore this jacket most notably in the sequence after he joins the Army and is forced to play dull military marches. Also, during the parade held in honor of a visiting general, Miller takes over the band, and begins playing swing music. Miller is scolded by his CO, but the general thinks the music was a great morale booster, and gives him authority to create his own band and tour overseas. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a copy of the film. Categories: James Stewart
