A second-draft 1971 (Special FX) script for The Godfather (Paramount, 1972). The script has an original black studio cover and is bound by brass studs. “The Godfather” and "Studio duplicating services Inc. 446 West 44th Street NYC" are embossed in gold to the front cover. The script is dated March 1, 1971. A piece of white gaffer tape is on the bind with “Godfather no. 1 March 1971” handwritten in red ink. Pages 1-20 are revisions to the script and are yellow. The script belonged to Special FX coordinator Sass Bedig, and his scene notations and highlights are included; for example, “Scene 33D INT NITE: LUNA AZURE (WINTER (1945) Michael Corleone; The WAITER comes to ask about the order, Sollozzo turns to speak, and without warning, MICHAEL shoves the table away from him with his left hand, and with his right hand puts the gun right against SOLLOZZO'S head, just touching his temple. He pulls the trigger, and we see part of SOLLOZZO'S head blow away, and a spray of fine mist of blood cover the entire area.” This was Special FX gagg that Sass Bedig and Joe Lombardi created for the film.
