A Nat Wise pink dress shirt owned by Frank Sinatra. Sinatra wore the same or similar shirt during rehearsals for the 1973 televised concert Ol’ Blue Eyes Is Back . The custom-made Nat Wise shirt is constructed of cotton and has the company label, “Frank Sinatra,” and the date “April 1971” sewn inside the garment. The collar is stamped “FS-W” and “CAST.” Sinatra can be seen wearing the same or similar shirt during candid rehearsal images for his television special Ol’ Blue Eyes Is Back . He is seen hugging and laughing with his old co-star Gene Kelly during their song-and-dance process. The last time these two starred together was 30 years prior in Anchors Aweigh . Ol’ Blue Eyes Is Back was originally Sinatra’s comeback album in 1973 after a brief time away from singing while in retirement. The album became a commercial success and this resulted in a television special of the same name. The concert featured many of Sinatra’s most classic songs and several new ones, like “Send in the Clowns.” During the special, “singing sailor” film clips introduced Gene Kelly to join Sinatra onstage for several song and dance numbers. This television event would announce to the world that Sinatra’s retirement was officially over, marking the second coming of arguably the most memorable singer of any American generation. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Categories: Frank Sinatra
