An ensemble worn by Robert Redford as Jack Weil in Sydney Pollack’s epic motion picture Havana (Universal, 1990) starring Lena Olin and Alan Arkin. The ensemble consists of a light blue long-sleeve dress shirt with a cream colored jacket, khaki pants, and a brown two-tone pair of shoes with black socks. The jacket and pants were custom made for Redford’s use on the film and have an internal Western Costume Company labels typed “Robert Redford” with sizing information. The dress shirt was custom-made by Nat Wise and has internal labels that read “RR” and “1989.” Redford wore these garments in several scenes of the film and notably when he makes arrangements for Roberta “Bobby” Duran (Olin) to leave Cuba, and later when he is assaulted by two Cubans telling him to get Roberta out of the country. The old town of Havana was recreated in the Dominican Republic with the main set measuring nearly a quarter of a mile long, taking 20 weeks to create. The pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses shown are not included. Costume design by Bernie Pollack. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity and a copy of the film. Categories: Robert Redford
