A brown cotton tie worn by Robert Redford as Roy Hobbs in the iconic film The Natural (TriStar Pictures, 1984). The tie was purchased specifically for Redford and made by Botany out of 1930s cotton fabric with a feather plume print. The tie, a signature piece from The Natural , which many fans consider one of the finest baseball films ever made, was worn toward the end of the film when “The Judge” is trying to bribe Roy to purposely lose the game. The lightning bolt patch was made for use in the film and is constructed of navy felt with a yellow felt lighning bolt. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress (Glenn Close), and nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress (Kim Basinger).
