A pair of prison uniform pants worn by Burt Reynolds as Paul Crewe in the motion picture The Longest Yard (Paramount, 1974). The uniform consists of a white short-sleeve shirt with blue denim collar and patch breast pocket, white pants with matching denim side stripe. Both garments have the original “State Prison” and Prisoner # “61394” stamped on the back as seen in the film. The interior of the pant also has “BR, #1 Long” inside the collar. Part of the film was shot on location at the Georgia State Penitentiary in Reidsville, Georgia, and James and the set costumers prepped for two weeks inside the prison prior to filming. The prison uniforms that were worn in the film, including these garments worn by Tony Cacciotti, were constructed by the actual prisoners who were serving time at the penitentiary. Reynolds wore these pants throughout the film, specifically in the scene when he is trying to recruit The Indian, portrayed by Sonny Sixkiller, for the Prison inmate football team; the shirt was made for but ultimately not worn in the final cut of the film. The uniform is in hand distressed condition as seen in the film. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity and a copy of the film. Categories: Burt Reynolds
