A deep red silk dress worn by Marion Cotillard in a "Hollywood Heroines” spread for the December 9, 2012, issue of The New York Times Magazine directed by Tierney Gearon as well as in a connecting segment of their video gallery. She also appears in a video portion of the feature titled “Wide-Awake,” which also profiles other film “Heroines.” In Cotillard’s segment, she is seen in a gloomy garden, fearful of a looming entity above her, so she digs in mud and soon “transforms,” lying down among a colorful array of flowers in a surreal garden. The 1960s silk wine cocktail dress with full skirt, low scoop neck, and bow has a label that reads “Harvey Berin Designed by Karen Stark.” Marion Cotillard is a French film actress celebrated for many roles, including her transformation as Édith Piaf in La Vie en Rose , which earned her an Academy Award.
