A custom-made suit purportedly worn by Will Smith as Muhammad Ali in the biopic Ali (Columbia, 2001). The 1960s style two-piece charcoal grey sharkskin suit has interior Oxford Clothes labels typed “Muhammad Ali” in both garments. Smith appears to wear this suit during a phone interview regarding Ali’s views on the Vietnam War and during the television interview with sports journalist Howard Cosell, portrayed by Jon Voight. Costume design by Marlene Stewart. Smith received the 2002 Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance as Muhammad Ali.
