A camel swing coat worn by Sissy Spacek as Missus Walters in the feature film The Help (DreamWorks, 2011). The vintage 1960s camel swing coat is constructed of a beige wool blend material, oversized lapel, fox fur cuffs, and button neck closure. The costumer's hold tag is attached reading "Miss Walters Chg 1, camel swing coat, fur cuffs, CRC HOLD.” Spacek can be seen wearing the coat in the beginning of the film while preparing to leave the Walters home. Minnie the maid explains to Walters that it is 98 degrees out and removes the swing coat that Walters is wearing. Walters responds by saying, “Well then, let’s put my coat on,” establishing her character’s dementia. The Help is an award-winning film adapted from Kathryn Stockett’s 2009 novel. The film received four Academy Award nominations for Best Picture, Best Actress (Jessica Chastain) and Best Supporting Actress (Viola Davis); Octavia Spencer won for Best Supporting Actress. Costume design by Sharen Davis. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity and a copy of the film. Categories: Sissy Spacek
