Robinson was to receive 5% of actor’s compensation during and throughout the actor’s engagement in the play. This was his last play. Edward G. Robinson (1893–1973) was born in Romania and emigrated to the United States at age ten. He was a sophisticated man in his real life but was famous as a murderous thug in his Hollywood roles.
