Gibson Guitar Sclupture, 10 foot tall, fiberglass. Alexander Guerra is a visual artist primarily focusing on photography and digital art. He has exhibited his work at Macy's South Beach, and the Precise Agency in Wilton Manors, Florida. Guerra is currently working on "Plastique" and integration of pop-art and the modern interpretation of pop-art. Plastique is the union of photography and digital art to create a surreal perspective of dolls and the human anatomy. The Inspiration for my design stems from the idea that Rock Stars are perceived as these unattainable creatures, much like angels. Since I've always had an affinity for angels, I decided to represent a Rock Star as an angel on the guitar. I decided that this "Rock Angel" would bear an updated Mohawk and metallic wings. Behind the angel is a chain link fence. The fence represents the symbolization of the partition (sometimes invisible) between a Rock Star and the city that he is playing. In the backdrop is the city of Miami. I intentionally kept the city stripped of color, and as a silhouette. I wanted the city to show up as a blank canvas much like a page out of a coloring book, waiting to be painted by the diverse music which makes this city so extraordinary. Categories: Gibson Guitar
