Acrylic Paint on an Epiphone Casino hollow-body, laminated maple-top guitar with mahogany neck. Sandra Monday grew up an only child in a small Florida town called Crescent City, moving away at just seventeen to pursue a dream in theatre. First she received an Associate of Science Cum Laude in Theatre from Florida School of the Arts, and then later went to the University of Central Florida to earn a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre. In the mid to late 90's she spent many evenings in coffee houses like Yab Yum, Java Jabbers and Stardust. There she met other artists like David Jones, Carl Knickerbocker, and Scramble Campbell. At UCF she was immensely inspired by the famous Walter Gaudnek, whom she earned a rare A from in Art Happenings class. She watched art events with Scramble Campbell and others, forming her own art happening group the "Recycadelics." After she gave birth to her child, she returned to painting. Creativity keeps her sane, which is why she also dances, sings, and writes poetry. It's her conviction that the artist must offer a valid interpretation of their own work and not leave it completely up to the audience. Art for her is the one field where the unique should be given precedence. To this end, Ms. Monday has returned to performance through her unusual political punk rock band, The June Cleavers, in which she is the lyricist and vocalist.
