Gibson Guitar Sclupture, 10 foot tall, fiberglass. Amanda Dunbar was discovered to be an artistic prodigy at the age of 12 when she began spontaneously painting images beyond her life experiences using techniques that generally take decades to master. She is a phenomenon whose colorful palette and bold brushwork capture her passions on canvas. She has been profiled on numerous TV shows including Oprah (twice) and has appeared in multiple newspapers and magazines including People, Southern Living, Art& Antiques and ArtNews. Amanda's art can be found in many private collections around the world and her works have continued to gain momentum, respect, and value in the art world for over 10 years. When I think of Miami, I think of a very special place and people who bring vibrant color, music, and spicy flavor to a uniquely warm city. My Les Paul sculpture was created to evoke both the literal meaning of Miami's heat and to represent the city's beloved NBA team of the same name. I chose to paint the brilliance of Miami's sun with sizzling reds, oranges, and yellows. I also wanted to represent the coastal surf and easy ocean breezes through the use of deep blues and purples. The texture and swirls on the sculpture reflect the motion, music, and cultural influences unique to this area. Last but not least, the bottom of the guitar features the logo of the NBA team, Miami Heat, which emerges from the color spirals with energy and pride. Categories: Gibson Guitar
