Original, vintage blueprint titled “Castle Deck and Superstructure Plan/ Roof Plan. ” Labeled “Disneyland Inc.,” this blueprint was executed by “WED Enterprises, Inc.” Dated “2-12-55” this is Sheet A-3, which appears to be a successor to lot 17 that contained an early layer of construction information for Disneyland’s famous castle. There are added building details to this blueprint and a notable omission of the castle interior that has been crossed out in hatch marks, not to be built at that time. Interior spaces on this blueprint were labeled simply as “Scene.” Two years later, artist Eyvind Earle filled these specific rooms with scenes in which Sleeping Beauty’s court and Princess Aurora are enchanted by a magical sleep.
