Mixed media collage and laquer on a SG standard Gibson Electric Guitar. Mahogany neck and body, rosewood fingerboard, humbucking neck and bridge pick ups, signed by The Only Ones 990 mm by 330 mm Alan Muir I studied Art at school, but music took over my life so it was a real blast to be able to express myself with the Planet Guitar. My music lead me to form a wee band at school called The Beatstlakers who became Scotland's top group causing riots every where they play with hoards of screaming girls causing endless havoc I then left the business for a while making hand made boots in Kensington Market and it's now well documented that Freddie Mercury was my shop manager for 3 years. Eventually I had a calling to get back into the music business and eventually came across The Only Ones at a rehearsal studio in Kings road, who had been looking for a bass player for 6 months. My journey took me to the right play at the right time. As my grannie used to always say "Whit's fir ye won't go past ye" never a truer word was spoken. Of the piece the artist says: "I used a collage of cut out images of the band and from our single release "Another girl Another Planet". Lacquered them onto the guitar to create a image of the 70s. I think the Gibson Planet guitar is a really cool name and they should release it as a model, and when you played it you would be on Another...!!! well you know the rest." Categories:
