The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic is a unique PGA event, a pro-am played on five days on five courses every January in California. Founded in 1960 as the Palm Springs Classic, first tournament was won by good friend Arnold Palmer with a final score of 338, or 22 under par. The record would stand for the next twenty years. Hope, who vied with Bing Crosby for the title of Hollywood's greatest golfer, added his name to the tournament in 1965 and became the Classic's Chairman of the Board. 6 by 10 inches Categories: Bob Hope
