An ivory jersey clown costume worn by Leslie Caron in Daddy Long Legs (20th Century, 1955). The costume consists of a fitted sleeveless cat suit, a cape-like jacket with exaggerated sleeves that snaps to the cat suit, and a black velvet skullcap. The jacket is trimmed with black mesh and has a large black feather polka dot at the closure. A bias label reads "A-735 J #34 L Caron." Caron also appeared on the May 23, 1955, cover of LIFE magazine wearing this ensemble. Accompanied by two black and white and one tinted publicity stills of Caron wearing the costume. Categories:
