An ivory and chocolate striped silk empire gown worn by Sylvia Sidney in Les Miserables (20th Century, 1952). The neckline and puffed sleeves are trimmed with burgundy silk binding. The back of the skirt is cut on the bias to create a diagonal striped weighted train and is gathered at the waistline. There are a bias label that reads "1-27-7-7662 Sylvia Sydney A664-27" and a Fox cleaning tag. Costume design by Dorothy Jeakins. Accompanied by a copy of the film. Categories:
