An ivory satin period ball gown worn by Joan Fontaine as Countess Johanna von Stolzenberg-Stolzenberg in The Emperor Waltz (Paramount, 1948) and designed by Edith Head. The bodice is fitted and the trained skirt has two tiers of satin ruffles. The neckline, shoulders and skirt are trimmed with a pleated tulle. There is a satin bow at the waistline and another at the hem. The gown has a Paramount ladies wardrobe stamp and a piece of fabric stamped "Gottinger" sewn into a seam under the bodice.
