A bamboo and wicker chair used as set decoration in Rick's Café American owned by Rick Blaine, played by Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca (Warner Bros. , 1942). These style of bamboo framed, wicker covered chairs can be seen throughout the café during the film. The chair, stamped "Made in Belgium" on the bottom, was last purchased in the 1970s from a Los Angeles prop warehouse and is hand-inscribed with the following production/inventory markings: "A 501-455," "BS 4702," "WH" along with a faint pencil inscription of a name. The first name is unintelligible with a last name "Brems." The chair's wicker seat had been replaced with a painted wood panel. Accompanied by a copy of the film. 35 by 18 by 16 inches Categories:
