Original, vintage blueprint partially titled “Castle” and “North Elevation” that illustrates the iconic façade of the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. This blueprint documents three-quarters of the north-facing Fantasyland side of the castle. Missing is the right side/western portion of the illustration and the blueprint’s key. The datum is undated, but is assumed to have been executed around February of 1955. The number 5 has been written by hand, in red pencil over two of the castle’s turrets. Of note are the highly decorated pilasters to the left and right of the castle’s outdoor lobby. These cross-wreathed pilasters were later simplified and stripped of ornamentation for final construction, possibly due to time or financial constraints.
