A belt presented to Evander Holyfield by "The Ring" magazine as their 1997 Fighter of the Year. Holyfield was awarded the belt mainly defeat of Mike Tyson on June 28, 1997 and his subsequent successful title defense against Michael Moorer on November 8, 1997. The belt is lined with gold, red white and purple acetate satin underneath 5 brass sculptures. The center sculpture features an eagle perched on top of an oval shaped middle portion which features "The Ring" enamel logo over two boxers. There are two faux red gemstones on either side of the boxers with a second smaller logo at the bottom of th sculpture that reads "RING/ Magazine Award." There are four smaller brass sculptures on the belt, two of which house black and white images of Holyfield, with the other two housing engraved mirrored brass plaques. The first plaque is engraved "EVANDER HOLYFIELD" with the second being engraved "FIGHTER OF THE YEAR 1997." Each of the smaller plaques contain two faux red gemstones. The back of the belt features a double buckle closure and two more brass sculptures, with one displaying a similar "The Ring" enamel logo as the front center sculpture. Categories: Evander Holyfield
