A United States Cavalry military uniform used in “How The West Was Won” (MGM/1962), including a navy blue military shirt with epaulettes, a navy blue broad brimmed hat with a brass emblem affixed to front, a leather belt with a brass oval U. S. belt buckle and two pouches, a pair of beige long cuff gloves with sash and tassels, a pair steel Calvary spurs and a pair of brown wool western style pants (No studio labels present). These items were originally worn by Melvin Douglas in an unidentified film (paper label included reading: “Prod. 1810/185/M.O./M. Douglas.” and later used in production of “How The West Was Won” (MGM/1962). PROVENANCE: From the collection of John Jensen, a Prop Man at MGM studios during the 1960s and 1970s.
