A 1956 Fender Precision electric bass guitar, Serial Number 13241, sunburst finish, double cutaway solid body, white pickgaurd, one pick up, two rotary controls, together with hard-shell case, signed twice: “Stan Kesler, 1957” on front, and “I Forgot To Remember to Forget/1955/Stan Kesler” in silver ink on back of body. This bass was owned and played by Sun Records staff musician and songwriter Stan Kesler during various live performances. Kesler, known for his bass and steel guitar work with Sun Records, playing on many Sun sessions with artists including Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis and is key figure in the development of rock and roll. In addition to his work with Sun, he wrote five songs for Elvis Presley including the hit single “I Forgot To Remember To Forget” which stayed on the charts longer than any Elvis recording.
