A 1966 Gibson ES-335 electric guitar, Serial Number 856890, cherry finish, double cutaway, Gibson deluxe tuning heads, 22 fret fingerboard with mother of pearl inlays, Gibson logo inlayed to head, two pickups, four rotary controls, one selector switch, black pickguard, signed twice by Fulson in silver ink, together with hardshell case. Owned and played by Blue’s legend Lowell Fulson from 1966 until 1997 during various concert performances and recording sessions. It was also used to write and record his biggest hit, “Tramp,” which was later covered by Otis Redding and Carla Thomas. The guitarist’s musical career began as a teenager, while playing with Ray Charles. Later he recorded with seminal record labels Swing Time, Chess, Kent and Rounder Records and toured with Texas Alexander. Some of his work was covered by B.B. King (“Three O’clock Blues”) and Elvis Presley (“Reconsider Baby”) and many others. In 1993 he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame to celebrate his six decade career. Together with supporting documentation and a signed letter of authenticity by Fulson as well as an image of him playing and signing the guitar. Categories:
