A collection of approximately 75 of letters and notes from Douglas Fairbanks to Mary Pickford (1916-1934) many on Douglas Fairbanks personal letterhead and having original transmittal envelopes. In this remarkable collection, Fairbanks writes to Pickford with a common topic – his deep love and admiration for her. In part one reads (sic): “My baby girl – I have been torn to a million shreds with emotions about you my dear – first of all I have loved you every second then I would get an occasional fit of jealousy during which I would almost pass out…” Also present are 10 additional letters from family members and friends and daily a Psalm pocket book once belonging to Pickford. The early Hollywood power couple were married from 1920-1936. The relationship ended when Fairbanks' secret romance with English model, actress and socialite Lady Sylvia Ashley became public.
