A Spanish galleon hand crafted model ship once belonging to Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, featuring many nice details including miniature down ropes, pulleys, sails and flags and is custom set on a wooden stand. The ship resided for many years at Pickfair and was later presented to the Hollywood USO by Rogers sometime during the 1970s. A brass plague with erroneous content is mounted on its side, most likely during its stay at the USO, reading in full: “Model of Spanish Galleon/For Douglas Fairbanks Sr. Film The Black Pirate/From Mary Pickford and Buddy Rogers.” Please note: overall condition is poor and in need of restoration. 30 by 9 by 31 inches.
