As part of a year-long campaign to raise funds and awareness for music education, the six-foot long Hilton Harmony Tour Piano has traveled to 12 cities in 12 months – including on stage at the 49th Grammy Awards! Throughout its journey, this now priceless instrument collected 112 autographs from celebrated musicians including Cher, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow, Oscar Peterson, James Taylor, Keith Urban, and Stevie Wonder. For every artist who signed the piano, Hilton donated $1,000 to the GRAMMY Foundation® in support its music education programs. At the Hilton Harmony Tour piano’s final tour stop – a February concert for more than 500 Los Angeles-area students and featuring performances by Natalie Cole and Josh Kelley – Hilton presented the GRAMMY Foundation with a check for $112,000. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction of the Hilton Harmony Tour piano will go to benefit the GRAMMY Foundation’s music education programs. The Baldwin Model L1 Artist Grand crafted from Hard Rock Maple, with SynchroTone IITM strings. The Solid North American Spruce soundboard amplifies the string energy to produce a richer, longer lasting piano tone. The Spruce and Beech keys are reinforced with Maple and individually balanced to provide exceptional durability and note-to-note consistency. This Baldwin model is a particular favorite of many jazz musicians. Complete list of signatures: - Aerosmith - Joe Perry … drew Aerosmith’s wings insignia - Al Jarreau - Alison Krauss … penn
