Burgunday stained, doubly cut-away, 1965 Gretsch Country Gentleman Guitar, serial number 24755. Elvis' Gretsch's were used both on stage and in the studio. This guitar is notable because it was used in Elvis' return to he stage in 1969. After years of filming movies The King returned to live performances in Las Vegas at the International (late renamed The Las Vegas Hilton). In the audience included Cary Grant, Fats Domino, Sammy Davis Jr. and Henry Mancini. Rolling Stone called his performance "Supernatural." 1 Accompnaied by a letter of authenticity from Jonathon Taurog, son of Norman Taurog. Norman Taurog was the director of nine Elvis Presley films including "Blue Hawaii," "Girls! Girls! Girls!," and "It happened at the World's Fair."
