33 1/3 mono, a double LP, part of the first UK pressing and numbered 0068381, includes lyric sheet/poster, and black apple die cut inner sleeves. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios and released in 1968, it was the Beatles first release on their own Apple records. Mono recordings had already been phased out in the US by the time of its release. Only those albums pressed in the UK were sold in Mono. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, "The White Album" is the Beatles best selling album having gone 19-times platinum and is the 9th best selling album of all time in the United States.
